The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has noted incidences of red-tagging of human rights groups, civil society organizations, and individuals even in the face of a pandemic back in 2020. The collective work of civil society organizations (CSOs) is full of stories that need to be heard by a wider audience. Although COVID-19 interventions in communities are reported quantitatively by the government and mainstream media, the lived experiences of CSOs and communities are rich and equally important. By utilizing social media, CSOs can grow its digital presence and create an active and dynamic community of stakeholders. 

The Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO) together with NAMAYAN Digital Inc. conducted a training last January 23-24, 2023. Participants from the member networks attended the Videography, Storyboard, and Video Editing Workshop. This project is funded by the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL). 

POST-WORKSHOP

NAMAYAN and CODE-NGO conducted weekly “huddles” online to get in touch with the participants and track their progress. Through these online sessions, participants are able to consult NAMAYAN and CODE-NGO Project Coordinator on how to further improve both their creative and technical outputs. 

CODE-NGO published teaser videos and posters before the March 30 official launch of the videos which was streamed live on the Facebook Page of CODE-NGO and cross-posted to the participants’ FB Pages.
