NATCCO was established in 1977 by five regional cooperative federations. The NATCCO Network comprises 807 co-operatives, serving their combined memberships of 4.95 million individuals through 1,920 offices nationwide. Co-op members are primarily farmers, fisherfolk, housewives, government workers, private employees, small entrepreneurs, students, teachers, soldiers, policemen, craftspeople, professionals, persons with disabilities, and more. Seventy percent of co-ops provide financial services. Co-ops generally provide self-help socioeconomic programs and services according to the universally-accepted Cooperative Principles and Values to combat poverty. NATCCO’s Mission is clear and simple: “Build the Socio-Economic Capabilities of Cooperatives for the Upliftment of the Quality of Life of the People.”
