Profiles of National Candidates for the May 2010 Philippine Elections
CODE-NGO prepared a compilation of profiles of selected presidential, vice presidential and senatorial candidates for the May 2010 Philippine elections. These profiles contain basic information, significant achievements and known advocacies of the national candidates. The profiles are prepared with the intention of helping Filipino voters in critically assessing and evaluating the national candidates.

Below are Tables on the National Candidates Profiles, which are a compilation of basic information and known positions/advocacies of most of the national candidates for the May 2010 Elections, using topics/issues highlighted in the Development and Reform Agenda for 2010-13.
The information in these tables were taken from a research, mainly using various websites including the officials websites of the candidates. The initial drafts of most of these profiles were presented to and discussed at seven (7) regional consultations last July – August 2009 that also discussed the draft of the Development and Reform Agenda for 2010-2013. The feedback from those consultations were used to improve the profiles. After the deadline for the filing of candidacies last December 1, 2009, we added a handful of profiles, particularly for candidates that we had not expected (and removed those who did not pushed through). The publication of this national candidates profiles was made possible through the support of the National Endowment for Democracy.
These profiles include all the official candidates for President and Vice President. However, due to time and resource constraints, we were able to include in this profiles only 39 of the 61 official senatorial candidates. Among those not included here are the senatorial candidates of the Ang Kapatiran party. Profiles of their candidates may be viewed in their website – www.angkapatiranparty.com.
We hope that this will help Filipino voters in evaluating the national candidates and making an informed vote on May 10, 2010.
