Economic Reform and Advocacy Since 2005, CODE-NGO has been one of the consortium partners of the Ateneo de Manila University in implementing the USAID-funded Economic Policy Reform and Advocacy (EPRA) Project. The initiative aimed to establish a meaningful and sustaining mechanism where civil society groups and basic sectors are able to participate in economic policy agenda-building and are mobilized to pursue the realization of this agenda towards improved public service delivery and bureaucracy reform. CODE-NGO was particularly involved in the agriculture sector reform component of the EPRA project. It worked with Ateneo towards developing the Agriculture Policy Reform Agenda (APRA) and advocating bureaucracy reform in the Department of Agriculture. It also convened civil society groups and basic sectors for roundtable discussions and workshops to identify key advocacy issues towards sustainable agriculture and the concerns of the fishery and coconut industry sectors. |
