Theme

The theme of the contest is “Kahirapan at Katiwalian, Sama Sama Nating Labanan!”.  The contestants’ performances – which could be in the form of music, dance and/or drama or other performing arts – should capture in artistic ways the Filipino’s voluntary spirit and social awareness and involvement.  The performances are expected to creatively send the message of the value of volunteerism among ordinary citizens or organized groups to help fight corruption and poverty in our communities and our country.

Who are eligible to join?

This talent competition is open to youth group performers with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 members.  The age of the members must range from 12 to 30 years old.

Interested youth performing arts groups are requested to submit an Application Form to participate.  Send your accomplished form to codengo_facebook@yahoo.com on or before 5PM of October 15, 2011.

The contest is part of the Social Development Celebration (SDC), an annual event organized by the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO), in partnership with the Peace and Equity Foundation and the Association of Foundations, to promote to a wider public the role of citizens and civil society organizations (CSOs) in national development.  Through the SDC’s series of events, CODE-NGO members and the general public are provided a venue to appreciate the various facets of the work of CSOs and volunteers as advocates, development program/project implementors and social entrepreneurs.
