Celebrating the 18th General Assembly of the Cordillera Network of Development NGOs and POs, Inc (CORDNET) with the theme “Sustaining Partnerships, Building Resilience and Growing amid Change”, fifty-two (52) delegates from five provinces of the Cordillera region gathered last May 12, 2017 at the Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary in Baguio City.

Connecting with the earth wisdom very much felt at the venue with the music of the bamboo rainmaker and the bamboo nose flute, Sr Lourdes Fernandez of Maryknoll Sisters warmly welcomed everyone and proclaimed each one as the prayer gathered in sacred space.

Looking back at CORDNET’s formative years, Marietta Paragas, Chief Executive Officer of Shontoug Foundation, Inc., who was also President of CORDNET for the past fifteen years until its turn-over to Ms Rosella Bahni of Igorota Foundation, outlined the milestones of the network and challenged  the delegates to sustain the gains as it moves on to the years ahead.

“Caring, trust and respect are key elements of a partnership… if these are present, then the network would be resilient and growing follows”, ended Sixto Donato C. Macasaet, outgoing Executive Director of CODE-NGO during his inspirational message.

Dom-an Macagne is the Executive Director of CORDNET.
