The CODE-NGO National Board of Trustees elected in its March 2, 2011 meeting its new set of officers.

Andrea Maria Patricia Sarenas of the Mindanao Coalition of Development NGO Networks (MINCODE) was elected Chairperson – the first time since CODE-NGO was founded 20 years ago that the seat is assumed by a representative from a regional network.  Ms. Sarenas used to chair the Committee on Women in the House of Representatives as Abanse Pinay! Party List representative in the 11th and 12th Congress (1998–2004).  Before that, she was the Executive Director of Kahayag Foundation in Davao City for many years.  Her leadership in the CODE-NGO Board is expected to bring a stronger voice and involvement of members from the regions in the network affairs.

Mr. Jose Ricardo Molina of the Philippine Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in the Rural Areas (PHILDHRRA) was elected Vice-Chairperson.  Mr. Molina is also the Executive Director of Fundacion Santiago, a non-profit organization that promotes a sense of national identity among Filipinos and the creation of social enterprises in the countryside as vital foundations for national development.

Ms. Felicitas Rixhon, representing the Association of Foundations (AF), was re-elected Treasurer for a second term.  Ms. Rixhon’s strong background in grantmaking, resource generation and capacity-building of non-profits, as Executive Director of the Philippine Council for Population and Development (PCPD) and as Board member of the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC), has helped her guide the Board in decisively managing CODE-NGO’s endowment fund and other finances.

Ms. Sarenas and Mr. Molina succeeded the leadership of the immediate past Chairperson Anna Marie Karaos of the Partnership of Philippine Support Service Agencies (PHILSSA), and the immediate past Vice Chairperson Patricia Calilong of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), respectively.
