Social Development Celebration 2011 Photography Contest As part of its Social Development Celebration 2011, CODE-NGO organizes once again its Photography Contest for young, amateur photographers, building from the success of last year's competition, which gathered a total of 48 entries from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. This activity aims to acknowledge the value of the arts in national development advocacy, cultivate the synergy between creativity and social awareness, and promote active citizenship and participation, particularly among the youth, through photography. The Social Development Celebration (SDC) is an annual event organized by the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO), in partnership with the Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) and the Association of Foundations (AF), to promote to a wider public the role of citizens and civil society organizations (CSOs) in national development. Through the SDC's series of events, CODE-NGO members and the general public are provided a venue to appreciate the various facets of CSO work and volunteers as advocates, development program/project implementors and social entrepreneurs.
